The Other Side of DuPont

Having complimented DuPont on its impressive work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, I feel honor-bound to report the other side of the story. DuPont still is in big trouble over a carcinogenic gas known as PFOA that is a necessary part of the manufacture of its best-known product, Teflon.

Many, such as the Environmental Working Group, distrust Teflon, and can point to a number of troubling indices suggesting the billion-dollar-a-year product is not safe.

Others, such as Kevin Drum, don’t have the final answer, but do have a solution: Scanpan’s from Denmark, which are made of titanium and emit no gasses at all when heated.
