Anyone else prefer print to YouTube? Here’s John Edwards on why we need to act to reduce the huge risks of global warming, for reasons both moral and practical:
It’s not just what we do over there [in Iraq}. We are four percent of the world’s population, emitting 25% of the world’s greenhouse gases. We’re not an example for good, we’re an example for bad. We can’t go to China and India and the rest of the world and say help us develop a solution for this crisis. And global warming is a crisis, by any conceivable measure. You look at what the Pentagon says about what will happen to the world? If the temperature on the face of the earth goes up 4-8 degrees over the next 75 years you’re going to see migrations of hundreds of millions of people. Not enough food, not enough water. It’s going to make world war look mild.
