When Science Was Fun

From the Cornell University Library collection of "The Fantastic in Art and Fiction," the Weird Science division, and no, I’m not making that up.

Is it just my imagination, or is it possible that a hundred years ago, science was a lot more fun?

How in god’s name did you ever find that great picture at the Cornell University website of all places? Was it a Google accident or were you actually looking for “weird science”?

I came across the jaw-dropping Cornell University collection of weird science and other fantastic and occult items a couple of months ago thanks to a favorite site called Metafilter. http://www.metafilter.com/

It’s a community site, but an unusually wide-ranging one. I think it began, or maybe still is located in your neck of the woods. Check it out…
