There’s a place in Ventana south of Carmel where the trail is about 200 ft above the river bottom, and there is a ~275 foot tall redwood growing in the river bottom. It’s very close to this perspective. Another good place to get a similar view is Prairie Creek Redwoods SP, hike to the very north part of the prairie and go up.

Interesting. I’m a fan of Ventana, but I didn’t realize the area had trees that tall. I hope this fall to have a chance to go back, and if so, I will look for those old souls.

Looks like entertainment until you have to work in the rain. Same situation that urban arborists deal with. This was filmed on a dryer day. It’s still a fine avenue to persue for a career though. I’d pick forest work if I started again.
