Dear Kit: It’s a recent trope, mostly coming from Fox News. I have a neighbor in Palm Springs who keeps the TV tuned to that crap all day, and though he is not an igorant person in any way, his rabid denial of global warming being anything other than a liberal hoax is clearly insane. And so are his compatriots in their beliefs. The question is, how do you re-educate a vast swath of Americans who have been lied to so expertly, in a way that brings out every one of their resentments? We shall see.
